About Me

I graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineeering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi in 2015. I joined OYO Rooms as an Operations Associate, where I gained deep understanding of functioning of startup in growth and expansion phase. I'd always wanted to start my own startup, so I quit my job at OYO to learn software engineering so that I could help startups launch their businesses and perhaps later build one of my own. I completed a course on Udacity on Android Development, and soon after I started working as an app developer at another startup. I worked relentlessly on my new found passion and with a great zeal to learn I was heading towards professional success, that's when my mind suddenly said, "I am done" and I fell into major depression. I decided to take a break from corporate world and return when I'd feel healthy. I received recruiter calls from Google, Microsoft, and some overseas companies for software engineering roles but they remained ignored by me.

My health became my priority and being a curious mind I started reading books on psychology, human brain, philosophy of mind. I realized the problem of epistemology in doctor-client interactions which language poses. That's when my interest peaked in Natural Language Processing. So, I enrolled in this online Post Graduate Program in AI and Machine Learning offered by Purdue University which also offered a course on NLP along with machine learning, computer vision and reinforcement learning. I've gotten a good overview of AI industry and have also developed skills in Inferential Statistics, Python, Statistical Modeling, Cloud Deployment and SQL with the hands on projects. I'm now looking for roles in applied Machine Learning and AI to strengthen my fundamentals by applying what I've learned to solve industry-scale problems.
